what is counselling?Counselling describes a discussion between two people. Its meaning can range from having an informal chat with a friend to seeing someone trained in counselling techniques on a structured, regular basis. The overall aim is to achieve a successful outcome at the end of the discussion or planned series of discussions. The essential component of counselling is having someone you feel comfortable enough to talk to, someone who listens to you in confidence and hears you. Whatever your area of concern, f2f gives you the chance to talk to someone who is properly trained, has many years' experience in dealing with the sort of issues you are facing and who is there to listen to you, without judgement. The person you see may be a counsellor, psychotherapist or psychologist. All our counsellors are professionals who have been properly checked through our rigorous pre- selection process and have current professional certification and accreditation. The difference between them is in the type of training they have undertaken. |
